Western Timber Frame™ outdoor wood arbors, gazebos, pavilions and pergolas can be pre-drilled with a hole down the center of one post to accommodate any and all of your electrical and lighting needs. The TimberVolt™ series comes pre-wired and ready to go.

The top "shade planks" on every Western Timber Frame™ outdoor timber frame shade structures are spaced closer together as compared to other pergolas that gives not only a unique look but offers additional shade as well.  They also use taller and wider rafters on their double tier roof as compared to what you will find elsewhere.

Solid wood 16′ x 26′ timber frame pergola kit featuring Southwest beam end profiles, full arched knee braces with decorative keystones. A one-of-a-kind custom stain was created to match the trim on the home.

Western Timber Frame™ utilizes a proprietary water-based, in-house UV-stable solid stain to protect and add beauty to their beautiful timber kits. Instead of having to reapply stain every 1-2 years, this stain only has to be touched up every 3-5 years. Plus, the touch-up and maintenance process is simple, not labor intensive. It can be applied with a simple spray bottle to any areas that require touch-up in one afternoon.

In addition to leading the industry in solid stains, Western Timber Frame™  has also developed the use of a bleaching agent to simulate aged wood when desired.

Western Timber Frame™ uses true to size rough-sawn timber for all components rather than standard smaller “dimensional’ lumber.  All exposed edges of these massively, heavy timbers are smoothed with a ¼” round. This allows the timbers to retain their rough appearance, with a touch of refinement.

Another unique feature that is included with every timber pergola ShadeScape™ kit from Western Timber Frame™ is drop-in rafter layouts. There are two main benefits of the drop-in rafter layout. The first is ease of installation. Because the timber beam that supports the rafters is already marked and slotted, you don’t have to measure anything or try to figure the proper spacing of your rafters. However, the primary benefit of the drop-in rafter layout is that it helps prevent warping and twisting of the rafters year after year.

Each Western Timber Frame™ timber ShadeScape™ kit is designed without visible hardware, bolts, screws, hangers or other mechanical fasteners, unless they are decorative in nature. This is not only more aesthetically pleasing but conventional hangers as you can see pictured left are not dependable or as strong. Western Timber Frame™ uses the old world craftsmanship of a mortise and tenon dovetail connection system combined with the new technology of Western Timber Frame’s exclusive The Dovetail Difference™ design.
